Silver Dessert Stand or Macaron Holder

We've created this incredibly elegant and unique Silver Dessert Stand or Macaron Holder with the help of a very talented silversmith.

Inspired by the French Patisserie or Salon de Thé popular in Paris, this three-tiered stand has six individual holders for your favorite petite dessert or macaron. 

How would we style This Silver Dessert Stand?

Centerpiece: It can be placed at the center of the table instead of a centerpiece. Layer it with petite desserts (tarts, petits fours, macarons), flowers, or pieces of fruit.

Tea Service: One can be placed between every two people as a dessert or tea service.

Dessert Display: Give height or interest to your collection of desserts.

Cocktails: Place small bowls (glass bowls, silver, or crystal salt cellars) containing nuts or other cocktail treats.

19th Century Design and Symbolism

At Sugar et Cie, we love the symbolism found throughout the 19th c. in jewelry, home decor, and artwork. At the top of this hand-crafted stand sits a finial in the form of an artichoke.

It is not uncommon to find an artichoke as a finial or top piece on other silver items from this period. The artichoke symbolizes love & devotion and hope for prosperity. 

• Silver plated over brass.
• Height: 10".
• Width at the widest point is 8 1/4" (total span of the tray arm).
• Holder. The diameter of the individual tray or holder is 3 1/2". The diameter of the flat portion which can hold the dessert is 2 3/4".
• Base. The diameter of the base of the stand is 4 1/2".

• To Clean: The tray is silver plated. Lightly wipe with soapy water and rinse by hand as you would any other piece of silver. Dry with a soft cloth. Never use anything abrasive.
• To Store: It is best to store the stand in an anti-tarnish cloth bag in between uses to prevent tarnish from developing. This way it will always be tarnish-free and ready to use. If tarnish does develop, gently wipe the tarnish off with a silver polishing cloth. Note: the stand can be disassembled for polishing.
