This is a stately pair of gilded bronze, two-arm candle wall sconces from France. Each arm and the blackplate are in the form of swirling acanthus leaves.

You can feel the quality of the sconce in the weight of the piece and see its age and beauty in the patina that has developed over the past 100 plus years.

The candle cup and the bobeche (drip collar) are threaded and can be removed in order to facilitate cleaning. This also makes it easier to wire the sconces if you so choose (or consider flameless tapers).

They are perfect for accentuating a mirror or a piece of art.
